These work days are organized by churches in the Lake Charles District. You and a team of volunteers are invited to drive in for a day to provide the hands and feet of Christ to homeowners who are in need of assistance.

Some of the jobs include home muck out, removing sheetrock, clean-up and trash removal, and emotional support for homeowners who are going through yet another disaster. 

Work days are held on Saturdays and are open to volunteers of all skill levels. Here are some important reminders to keep in mind before heading to the work site: 

  • All volunteers must be 18 years and older
  • You must provide transportation to and from work sites
  • Volunteers must wear work boots or close-toe shoes
  • Volunteers are asked to wear a mask and follow on-site safety protocols

What to Bring/Wear:

  • Completed and signed Participant Liability Form and Mission Covenant, also found below.
  • Lunch, snacks, juice or soda and plenty of water
  • Sunscreen and bug repellent
  • Work gloves 
  • Safety glasses or goggles
  • Face masks and hand sanitizer
  • Long pants and long sleeve shirts
  • Closed toe, sturdy shoes
  • Hat or visor
  • Compassionate hearts and listening ears to hear survivors’ stories
