Ways to Help
There are so many ways you and your church can help Louisianians in need.
If you have a unique need or a question, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Missional Engagement and Outreach.
We appreciate and give thanks for your willingness to serve those in need and provide the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
Pray
Prayer supports all of our ministries and we are all called to continue to pray for those who are in need and for those who are responding.
Pray for those suffering…
Pray for those yet to be affected…
Pray for the first responders…
Pray for the children who have difficult
questions with difficult answers...
Pray for our government officials;
may they get the rest they need…
Pray for our churches;
may they respond with the grace
of Jesus Christ.
Give a Financial Gift
Your prayers comfort, your hands rebuild, and your donations restore hope. All donations are used to support the disaster response ministry of the Louisiana Annual Conference.
Volunteer
We stand ready to accept volunteers who are ready to respond to areas of need in both southwest Louisiana, following Hurricanes Laura and Delta and Hurricane Ida in southeast Louisiana. We need to know a few quick bits of information to make the best match. Once we have your information, someone from our team will connect you to an area of need.
Donate Supplies of Need
Supplies are needed for both teams responding and for those who are in need. This list continues to update as the needs change. Please make sure to look over what NOT to supply.
Cleaning Kits
There are currently two needs regarding cleaning kits (formerly called flood buckets).
First, if your church has a desire to make cleaning kits, please email us prior to starting the work.
The needs in Louisiana are constantly changing and the need for cleaning kits might shift. We do not want your church to assemble cleaning kits if cleaning kits are not in need!
Meanwhile, the most immediate need regarding cleaning kits is regarding transportation. We need assistance in transporting flood buckets from the Sager Brown Depot to the affected areas. If you or your church can assist, please contact us.

Tarping Teams in Southwest Louisiana
![]() |
There are currently far too many people in southwest Louisiana who have gone far too long without a tarp on their roof following Hurricanes Laura and Delta.
We can provide the materials, clients to serve, training, and pair your team up with an experienced ERT member.
We also have overnight housing ready for your team.
Train as an ERT Responder/Host ERT Classes
The Louisiana Conference is constantly in need of certified ERT responders. Early Response Teams (ERT's) fill a specific need in the early days after a disaster to clean out flood-damaged homes, remove debris, place tarps on homes, and otherwise help to prevent further damage while providing a caring Christian presence. You are encouraged to find a future ERT training or contact our office to host a Conference ERT training.
Have a Question?
You might have an additional need or might be in a position to help in a unique way. If so, please email us and someone from our team will be in touch.
