Rita Milton Chiasson, 76, of Denham Springs, LA, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016. Rita was ordained as a United Methodist Minister and served her Lord in many ways and through many ministries over the years, including playing handbells, organ, and piano. She served at Magnolia United Methodist Church, Live Oak United Methodist Church and at First United Methodist Church, Denham Springs.

She taught many generations to play the piano and led the children's choir and handbells as well. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, pastor and friend and will be missed dearly by all the lives she touched.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Hanegan and husband, Mike, Preston Chiasson, Brian Chiasson, and Denise Kerby and husband, Jerald; grandchildren, Michael and Emily Hanegan, Andrea Aldridge and husband, Tom, and Erin Kerby; brothers, Fred and Kent Milton; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy John Chiasson; and parents, Monroe and Eris Milton.
