Rev. Thomas C. Beeler

Thomas Carl Beeler died January 5, 2022, at the Missouri State Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Tom was born on October 10, 1948, in Cairo, IL, to the late William Roger Beeler and Olive Blanche Gardner Beeler. Following high school graduation Tom joined the U.S. Navy where he served his country until he received an Honorable Discharge. Tom was a proud Navy veteran.
On August 20, 1976, Tom married Julia Lamb Beeler, who preceded him in death on April 20, 2012.
Tom became a local pastor in the Louisiana Annual Conference. His first appointment was to the Pearl River – Talisheek charge in June 1980. He went on to serve many churches throughout the conference from 1980 until June 2008, when his health rendered him unable to serve as a full-time local pastor.
After Tom’s last appointment at Mangum Chapel UMC, he and Julia returned to Sikeston, MO to be close to family. Tom lived at the Missouri Veterans home from 2013 until his death.
Tom is survived by his sister, Peggy Klein of Cairo, IL; a very special aunt, Linda Jobe and her son, Mike of Sikeston, MO; nieces, Amy Farrow of Cairo, IL; Laura Hunter of Carterville, IL and Rebecca Folse of Robert, LA; nephews, Bryan Klein of Cairo, IL; Robbie Huddleston of Beaumont, TX and Josh Huddleston of Bossier City, LA.
Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Huddleston.
Services were held on January 10, 2022, in the chapel of Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO. The United States Navy and the Missouri Military Honors program provided full military honors.
Tom was a dedicated and faithful servant who provided guidance to many churches throughout the conference. He and Julia are fondly remembered by those who knew them as they served over 20 congregations in Louisiana.
