Rev. Manasseh (M.C.) Cady
2/20/2021
M.C. was born on May 17, 1931, in Chloe, LA. to Curtis Cady and Nita Morgan Cady. On February 20, 2021, while he rested comfortably at his home in Canroe, TX, his Heavenly Father peacefully took him by the hand to his eternal home. He and his wife, Doris M. Cady, were able to have many adventures traveling and visiting friends and family all over the U. S. (literally coast to coast in an RV) and even in Brazil, where M.C. had faithfully and joyfully served as a missionary.
He enjoyed allowing the love of Christ to flow freely through him to others as he served the United Methodist Church officially for 45 years, and unofficially for 17 more, in the Louisiana Conference, and as a missionary in Brazil for 5 of those years. Many souls were positively influenced by his love and friendship.
M.C. is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nell Bethea, and his first wife, Rosemary Everett Cady. He is survived by his wife, Doris LaRue Cady; daughter Deborah R. Cady of Weatherford, TX; grandchildren Kara R. Stewart and husband, Jayson of San Diego, CA, Erica C. Nelson of Slater, MO; great-grandchildren Rylan C. Nelson, Liam C. Goff, and Maverick R. Goff; his brother John Cady and wife, Sue, of Shreveport. M.C. was loved and will be missed by his extended family, Doris’ children, Harry Johnson and wife, Diane, Darlene Underwood, Leonard and wife, Debbie LaRue, Ben and Wife, Cici LaRue and Lena Warren, 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Honoring M.C. as pallbearers will be Rod Zich, Mickey Thompson, Chase Larson, Jess Larson, Harry Johnson, and Leonard LaRue.
The family would like to extend a warm word of thanks to the staff of Bristol Hospice for the love and care they showed to them all.
