Rev. John Sidney Montegudo, Jr.

 Rev. John Sidney Montegudo, Jr., a native of Zachary, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022. Sidney was born on August 22, 1945 to Johnny and Estelle Montegudo, who preceded him in death.

Sidney was a graduate of Zachary High School and Centenary College where he sang and toured with the Centenary College Choir. He was an ordained deacon in the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church where he served churches in Baton Rouge, Bossier City, Metairie, Zachary, and a church in West Texas.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Tina Montegudo; a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Matthew Martin; partner, Roger Samaha; six grandchildren, Whitley, Zachary, Preston, and Lucas Montegudo; Louis and Emmie Martin; and one great-grandchild, Amia Harlin. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Rev. Dr. Ralph Ford, and three nephews and their spouses, Maxwell and Kellie Lea, Adam and Katie Lea, and Philip and Maggie Lea. He is preceded in death by an infant brother, Thomas William Montegudo, and grandparents Morgan and Bessie Tiner, and Adolphus and Emmie Montegudo.

Sidney will be remembered as a dedicated servant to the United Methodist Church, who used his musical gifts to praise God.
