Rev. Joe D Solomon
11/11/2016
"Brother Joe", as he was affectionately known by many, was born October 3, 1927. After being honorably discharged from his Army duties of WWII, Joe returned home to Crowville and enjoyed a successful career as a salesman for H. Mickel Dry Goods.
At the age of 47, he gave up his sales career to enter the ministry. He attended seminary at Southern Methodist University and, over the years, served his God as pastor in Kilbourne, Locust Grove, Grand Bayou, Ringgold, Castor, and Amite before retiring from Lea Joyner United Methodist Church in 1992.
"Brother Joe" still kept on preaching. He was passionate about spreading the word of God and ministering to the needs of others. He lived what he preached, and it showed in all he did.
