Rev. James R. Schaub

Rev. James Richard Schaub, 86 of Delaware, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born on May 12, 1934 in Brinkley, Arkansas to the late George and Olga (Elioff-Schaub) Shapkoff.
His parents moved to Lorain when he was a young boy, and then later to Spencer, where he grew up and graduated from Spencer High School in 1952.
Jim attended Mt. Union College, Ashland College and Louisville Southern Baptist Seminary, receiving Master’s Degrees in Psychology and Divinity, and later his Ph.D. in Theology.
He would go on to serve as a Pastor, mostly with the New Orleans District of the United Methodist Conference in Louisiana, where he retired from after 23 years.
Jim had also worked as a marriage counselor, and was a Clinical Counselor for the Louisiana State Board of Mental Health.
He is survived by his wife Alice (nee Davenport), to whom he married on Sept. 12, 1953; daughters, Terri Mullins of Houston, TX, Kim Rickels of Mobile, Al, son, Jim (Julie Esker) Schaub of Powell, OH, 7 grandchildren, Cameron, Ashley, Stacey, Barrett, Christopher, Becca, and Tori. 1 great-grandson, Parker, sister, Velma Geracioti; brother, Fred Schaub Jr.
He was preceded in death by his step-father Fred Schaub Sr., and sons-in-law John Mullins and Mike Rickels.
