Mrs. Dessie H. Pyles

January 6, 1927 – February 21, 2019

Dessie Pyles was born on January 6, 1927, in Jackson Parish and passed away on February 21, 2019, in Jonesboro, Louisiana. Funeral services were held at Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Louisiana, on February 24, 2019.  She is survived by her son, Andy Pyles and wife, Kaye; grandchildren Dustin, Kayla, Tyler, Brooke, and Jourdan; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Harvey, brother, Carol Hinton, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Dessie is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Pyles; her parents, Travis and Mae Hinton; and two sisters, Vonice Coleman and Essie Rasbury.

During her life, Dessie was a clergy spouse who was involved in many activities and organizations within the United Methodist church, and was an employee of Sears for many years. Among her other interests were traveling, China painting, and spending time with her family. 

Any memorials may be sent to the United Methodist children’s home in Ruston, Louisiana.
