DECEMBER 31, 1946 – JUNE 30, 2013

Rev. Carol Daye Heard was born December 31, 1946 in Ruston, Louisiana and went home to be with her Lord and
Savior, June 30, 2013. She was retired from Bossier Parish School Board as a teacher in special education. Carol
was also a minister at the Heflin Methodist Church for thirteen years and also was a lay minister at Strange
Methodist Church prior to going to Heflin Methodist Church.

Carol also completed all of her course of study requirements at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi to become a
Methodist minister. At the time she did not have a church that she was pastoring.

Carol was passionate about her pastoring of her church. She always wanted to be a missionary, in her younger years.
Her heart was for the lost and down trodden. She took care of many of her church members medical problems, by
helping them receive the correct doctoring they needed. Carol was very devoted to the Lord and His creation in all
forms. Her family and friends knew her as their constant strength and cheerleader. As an educator she was an
advocate for the disabled. From leading worship in church to hospital visits. Pastor Carol was there to pray, hug,
and encourage.

Carol also helped form the Webster Parish Humane Association. She helped rescue animals who had been abused
/neglected, having rescued and placed hundreds in homes. Her love for God's creation also extended to gardening as
she beautified every garden she touched. Carol lived out a life of love and service, which glorified her Lord and
Savior.

Her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jarrell F. (Jerry) and Lora Dell (Day) Heard, her infant brother, David Patrick Heard, and
niece, Megan Daye Heard preceded her in death.

Carol is survived by her brothers, Jarrell Sanders (Sandy) Heard and wife, Susan Colvin of Gainesville, Georgia;
Nolen Ragan Heard and wife, Fay Pitre of Hammond; sister, Alice Heard Forrest and husband, Ed of Hammond.
Nephews, Matthew Heard, Jason Heard, Aaron and Alex Forrest, nieces Jennifer and Jessica Heard, and Amanda
Forrest Singleton. Two great nephews, Mason Forrest, Grant Forrest and four great nieces, Kierstin Heard, Ashlynn
Daye Forrest, Allison and Chloe Singleton.
