DORIS FAY HINNANT HINE
NOVEMBER 16, 1926 - MAY 23, 2012

Doris Fay was born November 16, 1926, to Rev. and Mrs. R. N. Hinnant of Micro, North Carolina. She was valedictorian of her high school class, and after graduating from Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia in 1946, she returned home to teach school. Later, she held positions at the Library of Congress and Duke University Press, where she met her future husband, Rev. Harold R. Hine of Louisiana.

Following their marriage, her greatest joy was working with him in his different pastorates around the state, including Merryville, Lake Arthur, Greensburg, Vidalia, Lafayette, and Denham Springs. After his death in 1966, she went on to work with the Louisiana Moral and Civic Foundation, and then different doctors in the Baton Rouge area. Her last years were spent in a personal ministry of prayer and outreach.

On Wednesday morning, May 23, 2012, God granted her most-longed-for desire:  to be ushered into the presence of her Lord and to be reunited with her beloved husband and a son whom she never saw nor held in this life. She is survived by one son, Christopher R. Hine; one daughter, Karen Fay Hine Abedinzadeh; one grandson, Shaun Abedinzadeh; and one great-grandson, Gavin Sage Abedinzadeh.
