Henderson, Ludie Hendrick (Mrs. William F.)
8/28/1965
MRS. WILLIAM F. HENDERSON
April 26, 1880-August 28, 1965
Mrs. Ludie Hendrick Henderson was born at Keithville, La., April 26, 1880. She was transplanted into eternal glory August 28, 1965. Her body was laid to rest in the same community into which it was born.
On June 29, 1904 she was married to William F. Henderson, Jr., the son of a Methodist minister. In 1913 William answered God’s call to the ministry and began serving as a pastor in the Louisiana Conference. From that time until health conditions forced Rev. Henderson to retire in 1941, Mrs. Henderson nobly and beautifully filled the role of a minister’s wife.
Upon retirement Rev. and Mrs. Henderson moved to Shreveport and became active in the Cedar Grove Church, where they had once served. Until God called her home, Mrs. Henderson remained deeply interested in, loyal and devoted to her church and her God. To know her was to love her. To share her life was to be challenged to a deeper spiritual experience and a more consecrated, sacrificial service.
Dr. Roy Burkhart has said a Christian enjoys three birthdays. The first is when he is born physically. The second is when he is born into the spiritual Kingdom as a conscious child of God. The third is when he is born into the eternal presence and glory of God. We can truly believe Mrs. Ludie Henderson has enjoyed all three of these birthdays.
