George Washington died on the 25th of October 1880..For many years he was an effective and honored minister of the Louisiana Conference. Wherever he went he was known only to be loved and honored. His memory will long be cherished in this Conference. Just a short time before be launched out upon the broad bosom of eternity, he told his friends he was ready to go. Said he, “Tell my -. Presiding Elder I’m not going to die, but I’m only changing worlds to see Jesus. I have been working many days for this day and now am I ready, for I have a home beyond the skies.” He leaves a vast number of ardent and devoted friends that join with his family in their loss, which is his eternal gain.. We will see him again! | |
