HESTER (Mrs. T.J.) JOHNSON)
- Nov. 6, 1906

Mrs. Hester Johnson this faithful old veteran of many battles and conflicts crossed the bar November 6, 1906 as the 8 o’clock taps sounded, and met her pilot face to face. She was faithful unto death and trusted her Christ to the end. She was one of the founders of St. Paul Shreveport, and gave the first $25.00 to buying the place where the church now stands.
She was a mother beloved in Israel, the people called her a Saint. Verily her life was one of sunshine. Our loss is heavens gain. She leaves three children and a host of friends to mourn her death. To Bro. T. J. Johnson we extend the hand of sympathy and pray for grace to comfort to comfort him and his sisters. Her place will not be filled soon in St. Paul
