Mrs. Julia Hoffpauir, was the widow of Rev. J. I. Hoffpauir deceased. Her parents were Elija and Nancy Spell. She was born 1858 at Indian Bayou, La. She fell asleep in February, 1929. She followed her husband for almost forty years to the appointments of our Louisiana Conference until eight or ten years before his death, when they settled on their home at Indian Bayou, from which he served the charges nearby. She, like every faithful Methodist preacher’s wife, stayed by the stuff while he went out to battle. She bore many hardships, but was faithful to her church unto the end. She leaves the following children to mourn her going: Ellis of Jackson, Miss.; Sweeny of Birmingham, Ala.; Mrs. Russell of Pennsylvania; Jas. T. and Irene of Indian Bayou, La. It may be said of her that she wrought well and was a good woman. Louis Hoffpauir |
