Rev. William A. Tyus was received into the Louisiana Conference from the colored Methodist Episcopal Church in the year 1920. He served the Conference faithfully for fourteen years. He was a good worker in the church and a fervent preacher. As a pastor, he was very loyal and true to the cause. He faithfully served the following charges: Cruchton, Hayes, St. Luke Ct. and Denham Springs, Macedonia and Pine Grove, Mt. Camel, (Fall) Belcher, Marthaville, Cane River, Steady Grove Ct., Boyce and Rapides, and Logansport. He retired from the pastorate in the year 1933. - He died in Shreveport, Louisiana, in the year 1938. |
