DORA JENKINS (Mrs. John G.) SLOANE
November 10, 1867 - 1949

Mrs. Dora Jenkins Sloane, wife of Rev. John G. Sloane, deceased Methodist Minister whose ministry in the Louisiana Conference extended over a period of thirty years, was born November 10, 1867. Her marriage to Rev. John G. Sloane occurred May 25th, 1916.
She spent many years of her earlier life in educational work with the French people of south Louisiana.
Her parents were Dr. and Mrs. William Thomas Jenkins of Church Point, Louisiana.
Her many years of Christian educational experience, together with a completely consecrated life to her Creator and His kingdom, fitted her perfectly into the pattern of a minister’s wife.
After the death of her husband she was very active in Christian circles centering in Noel Memorial Methodist Church at Shreveport, Louisiana, and after a rich, full life she lay down her earthly cares to reap that eternal reward for which she so earnestly sought. She died at the age of 82 years and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Shreveport, Louisiana.
