| Reverend Spencer Pearl Sanford, son of the late Rev. Spencer P. Sanford, Sr. and Mrs. Emily Deets was born in Clinton, Louisiana, January 14, 1903. He joined the church at Clinton at an early age, August 8, 1921; he married Miss Gertrude Franklin, and to this union was born four children, three boys and one girl. In 1936 he became an Accepted Supply Pastor and served many churches throughout Louisiana. In 1970, Rev. Sanford requested retirement because of ill health. On April 4, 1971 his weary heart refused to carry the load any longer and he left us to live eternally with his God for whom he worked so valiantly. | |
