Campbell, Agnes Catherine Peter (Mrs. Fred)

Mrs. Agnes Catherine Peter Campbell was born on February 28, 1908 in New Orleans. She was one of eight children born to Frederick Lewis and Catherine Tierney Peter. She served as secretary of the Germania Chapter No. 190, Order of the Eastern Star in New Orleans. She was active in Epworth League at Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church (E.C.S.). It was during this time that she met and married Reverend Fred Campbell. The Reverend James Grambling married them June 1, 1926. Mrs. Campbell was secretary of the State Association of Secretaries of the Order of the Eastern Star for several years. She was a member of the Day's United Methodist Church. The Reverend James J. Caraway and the Reverend Robert Jamieson conducted her funeral in New Orleans, March 16, 1972, and she was buried in the Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband, Rev. Fred W. Campbell, Greensburg, Louisiana; two daughters: Mrs. Marian Agnes Feldman, Panama City, Fla., and Mrs. Catherine Vir-ginia Eiland, Plantation, Fla.; and one son, Fred W. Campbell, Jr., Leesville, La. Four grandchildren survive her. |
