Mrs. J. MILLER (LAURA) POLEDORE

Mrs. Laura Joseph Poledore was born September 1, 1902 in St. Mary Parish, La., the second child to the marriage union of the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Joseph. At the age of 18, on October 7, 1920, Laura Joseph was married to the Rev. J. Miller Poledore, a marriage which lasted 54 years and to which union were born six children: two sons and four daughters.
Laura Joseph Poledore was dedicated to the building of her church and community. She served with her husband for twenty years in the ministry of her Lord through the Methodist Church.
She passed from this life on May 7, 1974, leaving as survivors her husband, Rev. J. M. Poledore; two sons, Memphis Poledore and Jarry Dennis Poledore, both of Baton Rouge; four daughters, Mrs. Melvina Taylor, Mrs. Mildred Brown, both of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Clara Lee Daniel of Baton Rouge, and Linda Faye Poledore of Jeanerette, La.
