Mrs. W.W. (ANNIE ARRA RANEY) PERRY
1878-1974

Mrs. Annie Arra Raney Perry was born March 2, 1878 to Sam and Elizabeth McKnight Raney, in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. She was married to W. W. Perry on December 17, 1899, and to this union five daughters and one son were born.
When Rev. Perry entered the ministry the first part of the century, the couple entailed many sacrifices, both financially and in moving into inadequate living quarters. As a devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Perry made the best of these situations and gave of herself untiringly to make the lives of her family as normal and as happy as possible.
She will be remembered in many places in Louisiana where Rev. Perry served pastorates as a generous woman and one who loved and served all young people.
In 1963 the Perry family moved to New Roads, where she was residing at the time of her death January 17, 1974, at the age of 95. Officiating at the services were the Rev. Ira W. Flowers of Lecompte, the Rev. Frank M. Stage, Jr., of Lottie, and the Rev. William Peeples of St. Luke’s Methodist Church of Baton Rouge. Interment was in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by Rev. Perry in June of 1964.
