Mrs. A.M. (EVA) MARTIN
1898-1974

Eva Williams Martin, wife of the late Rev. A. M. Martin, passed from this life on January 26, 1974. Mrs. Martin was born near Buena Vista, Ohio on April 28, 1898. She attended God’s Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio to prepare for missionary service in Japan. However, her life was to follow another route in the Lord’s work.
On June 17, 1919, Eva Williams married the Rev. A. M. Martin, and the following year came with him as a missionary to the French Mission, near Houma. Together they served churches in the Louisiana Conference for almost forty years. Eva Martin knew and loved her Bible, and was seldom seen in public without a copy of the Scriptures.
After forty-eight years of marriage, Reverend Martin preceded his wife in death on June 9, 1967. Surviving Rev. and Mrs. Martin are two daughters, Virginia Martin Spell of Ridge, La. and Maxine Martin Wagner of Lafayette, La., and one son, Kenneth Martin of Westlake, La.
