Mrs. Hilda Conerly Gunn was born into a Methodist family in Gloster, Miss. on January 21, 1891, to W. J. Conerly, Sr., and Olive Simmons Conerly.
When the Rev. Elmer C. Gunn, a young Methodist preacher, was assigned to the Methodist church at Gloster, he met Hilda Conerly, and they were united in marriage April 29, 1913.
Rev. Gunn served for forty-three years in the ministry. Through these years his wife remained faithful and loyal at his side. Her devotion was both to her husband and to the churches and ministry in which he was involved.
To this union was born one child, Nellie Mae Gunn Parkman. She was born on April 25, 1921 and died on July 31, 1952.
Mrs. Gunn was born, married, and died in Gloster and is buried in Roseland Cemetery there, with her husband and daughter. She died on Nov. 3, 1975 at the age of 84. She is remembered in love by all who knew her.
