ARTHUR L. HINES August 2, 1894 - February 14, 1978
Rev. Arthur L. Hines was born August 2, 1894 in Wiggom, Georgia to Mr. And Mrs. John Hines. He was baptized at an early age. He began his ministry in the United Methodist Church in 1961 where he served faithfully until his retirement in 1970. Upon retiring, Rev. Hines continued to minister and remained active until his death. He was a member of Newman United Methodist Church. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. He was married to the late Mrs. Ella Hines, and to this union five children were born. Rev. Hines departed this life on February 14, 1978 at Huey P. Long Memorial Hospital. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Mrs. Rosa Lee Hines; four daughters: Mrs. Evelyn Valentine, Mrs. Fannie Stewart and Mrs. Ruth Craig of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Helen Sanders of Alexandria, Louisiana; one son, Mr. Arthur Hines of Los Angeles, California; one adopted son, Mr. Moses Ray Hines of Alexandria, Louisiana; seventeen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
