Hines, Rosalie (Mrs. Arthur L.)
4/28/1991
Rosalie Bernard Hines was born, April 28, 1908 in Colfax, Louisiana to the late Joe and Joyce Bernard. She departed this life on April 28, 1991 in Alexandria, Louisiana. Mrs. Hines was converted at an early age. She joined the Wilton United Methodist Church where she served faithfully until she became disabled. During her active service, she served as a Communion Steward, Chairperson of Adult Ministries and was an avid worker in mission with the United Methodist Women and Sunday School. Mrs. Hines was ill for the time I served as her pastor at Wilton United Methodist Church, Alexandria. Whether my visit was with her in the home, in the hospital or in the nursing home, she would smile and say, “I’m still holding on.” She anxiously waited to hear about the concerns of the church. She believed in prayer and always prayed a fervent prayer with me during my visits. She was married to the Rev. Arthur L. Hines, who preceded her in death. Her survivors include one son, Moses Ray Hines of Alexandria, Louisiana; two nieces, Geneva Williams and Sandra Young of Gretna, Louisiana; one nephew, Stanley Young, Gretna, Louisiana; and a host of other relatives and friends. |
