Goldman, Major M.

Reverend Major M. Goldman, son of the late Major M. Goldman, Sr. and Alice Goldman Anderson was born December 7, 1932 in Monroe, Louisiana.
He was baptized and reared at St. James Methodist Church in Monroe, Louisiana and was a product of Terzia High School. He received his B.A. Degree in Liberal Arts from Grambling College.
His theological training was done at Gammon Theological Seminary of Atlanta, Georgia. Further studies were done at Wiley College and the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
Reverend Goldman was admitted to the Louisiana Annual Conference B on probation in 1967. Deacon’s Orders were obtained in 1964 and he became an Elder in Full Connection in 1970.
Reverend Major M. Goldman has been pastor in the Thomas Chapel/Bonchest Circuit, the St. Paul/Mt. Sinai Circuit, the Mt. Olive Circuit, the Wesley Circuit, the Mt. Zion Circuit, the St. Paul/Briggs Circuit, the Thirkield/Harry’s Chapel Circuit, and the Trinity/Asbury Circuit, where he was in his seventh year of service. He was a member of the District Board of Missions and Church Extension.
Reverend Goldman once said, “I am United Methodist by denomination only: I am a gospel preacher!”
