The Reverend Marshall Wesley, Sr., was born on May 23, 1916 to the late Anderson Wesley and the late Ida Giroud Wesley. He met Ella Robertson, who was born on April 15, 1919, at an early age. They were united in Holy Matrimony on November 14, 1936. To this holy union, nine children were born; four boys and five girls. Reverend Wesley answered to the call to pastoral ministry at an early age and Ella answered the call with him. Together they served the Methodist Church of Conference “B” very well. Through good times and hard times, they stayed by each other’s side, loved each other, supported each other, and gave quality time to their children. During their tenure as pastor and wife, which made a beautiful team in ministry, they served nine different appointments. Those appointments included services rendered in Conference “B” and the present United Methodist Church after the merger. Those who met and shared experiences with Rev, and Mrs. Wesley, I believe, knew their lives enhanced and lifted to new spiritual awareness, because if any couple lived a godly life in serving the church these two surely did and they were saints of God. Rev. Marshall Wesley departed from life on October 2, 1994 and his devoted wife, Ella, departed from life on November 5,1994. They served God and served God’s people very, very well. May they both rest in peace in the everlasting arms of God. AMEN. |
