Timmons, Rhoda L. (Mrs. Fred D.)

6/21/1996

1893 - 1996

Rhoda L. Timmons was one of the gracious queens of the parsonage in yesteryear who walked through this “pilgrim’s barren land” meekly, lowly, and humbly beside her minister-husband, Fred Douglas Timmons, as he served with dignity varied appointments in the Louisiana Conference from 1942, when he transferred from the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, until his retirement in 1958. They were an excellent pair and were always jovial, loving and Christ-like in their associations and actions with and among others.
Truly she was a noble character with great religious fervor and an unalterable faith which was exhibited all through the years of her Christian service and fellowship. Although this beautiful rose was plucked from the garden of life, the fragrance of her beautiful Christian spirit will ever remain in the thoughts and memory of all who knew and loved her. She transferred into eternity June 21, 1996.
