Wiley, Mikel Anderson

Minister Mikel A. Wiley was born on February 25, 1945 in Shreveport, Louisiana, the daughter of Ruthie Anderson and the late Wilbert Anderson, Sr. She grew up in Keithville, Louisiana, where she united with the McDonald United Methodist Church at an early age. She graduated from the Walnut Hill High School, after which she earned her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Natchitoches Central Area Trade School. Mikel was a nurse and certified nursing instructor for some 27 years. Mikel was a dedicated Christian lady who entered the ministry around 1987 where she served faithfully. She served the St. Matthew, Leesville, New Light and Macedonia United Methodist Churches, and was presently serving the Bradford Chapel United Methodist Church of Belcher, Louisiana when her health failed her. Mikel died at the LSU Medical Center on April 14, 1998. The Homegoing Celebration was held at the Mt. Bethel #2 Baptist Church in Keithville. Officiating was Pastor Donnie Nedd. Interment was in the Mt. Bethel #2 Cemetery in Keithville. Left to cherish her memory are her Mother, Ruthie Anderson-Lewis, stepfather, Columbus Lewis, two daughters, Anne Arkansas and Shannon Mitchell and four grandchildren, Gabriel, Kasavinn, LaTora, and Mikena Wiley. |
