Conerly, Melonea (Mrs. Abe)
4/7/1998
Melonea Conerly was born November 17, 1917. She married Abe Conerly who was at the time a salesman. In 1948 Abe answered the call to preach and became a Methodist minister. Melonea supported him faithfully in every way. She served by Abe’s side for 44 years until his death in 1992. She was known as a kind, loving generous person. Every church that the Conerlys served was enriched by Melonea’s wonderful spirit, gracious manner, and great sense of humor. Melonea lived a long, full life. She was a good steward of the time that God granted her on this earth. She not only received much from life but also gave much in return to her family, friends and churches. A service celebrating her well-lived life was held April 9, 1998 in her home church, Holly Grove United Methodist Church in Anacoco. Melonea is survived by a son, Jim Conerly of Bossier City, Louisiana. |
