Anna McGee Grant was born July 27, 1909, in Talladega Springs, Alabama. On April 28, 1928, Anna married Robert Roy Grant. The marriage produced one son, Robert Bethard Grant. Together, Rev. and Mrs. Grant served five churches on the Choudrant Charge and then in successive appointments served Bernice and Ringgold, organized the Faith Church in Ruston and then the Dubach Charge before retiring in 1975 after 45 faithful years. Anna Grant was one of the oldest members of First United Methodist Church in West Monroe, where she taught Sunday School. She will be remembered as a Christian lady who enjoyed her volunteer work at the hospitals. She was active until her death in West Monroe, Louisiana on November 13, 2001, at the age of ninety-two years, three months, and fourteen days. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Wilson Grant; grandsons Brad Grant, Robby Grant and his wife, Melissa, great granddaughter Taylor Melayne Grant, all of Houston, Texas; nephew Richard “Al” McGee and wife, Jan and niece Dianne McGee, all of West Monroe, Louisiana; cousins Donald McGee and wife June of Houston, Texas; Jeanette Mahaffey and Gladys Brownlee, both of Monroe, Louisiana. Other nieces, nephews and a host of special friends, also survived Mrs. Grant.
