Smith, Edna R.(Mrs. C.T.)

3/26/2002

Jan. 20, 1940-March 26, 2001

Edna R. Smith was born on January 20, 1940 to Ocpice Boyers and Elsice Boyers in the Broadlawns General Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa. She was raised in a Christian home by her Aunt Ruth and Uncle Grady that provided for her the basis for her deep, abiding faith and her life of dedicated service to Christ.
After she graduated from high school, she went to Des Moines School of Practical Nursing where she received her L.P.N. license in September of 1961. She moved to Keithville, Louisiana in 1977 and united with the Mt. Bethel #2 Baptist Church. On May 5, 1977 we were married in Haughton, Louisiana, Louisiana. To this union no children were born.
In 1990 we both united with the McDonald Chapel United Methodist Church, and for the last twelve years she was a beautiful first lady. Edna R. Smith was a loving, caring wife who cared deeply for her family and for children and youth. She was a dedicated, conscientious, and organized Christian who used her talents and gifts effectively in self-effacing ways. She conveyed clearly the fruits of Christianity in what she taught and how she lived.
Edna R. Smith was and still is the sunshine of my life. With love,
