Bazer, David Gene

Reverend David Gene Bazer was born December 1, 1945 and passed away January 22, 2003 at Christus Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana following a short fight with cancer. Services were held January 24, 2003 at First United Methodist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Terry Willis, Rev. Bill Moon and Rev. Terral Lowe officiating. He was a native of Carthage, Texas and a resident of Doyline, Louisiana. He is survived by his parents, Reverend A. P. Bazer and Eugenia Bradley Bazer of Carthage, Texas; his wife, Judith Boyd Bazer of Doyline, Louisiana; two sons, Robert Bazer and wife Shonda of Monroe, Louisiana, and Matt Bazer of Doyline, Louisiana; two grandchildren: Jessie Bazer and Chapman Bazer; two brothers: Jerry Bazer and wife Martha, Carthage, Texas and Gary Truett Bazer and wife Hope of Keithville, Louisiana and special friend, Scooter. Reverend Bazer was a member of the Lions club where he served as District Governor and in multiple other offices, the Masonic Lodge, Sons of the Confederate Vets, and Pastfinders Treasure Hunting Club. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He currently served as Pastor of Evergreen Union Church, Colquitt United Methodist Church, and Whitehall United Methodist Church. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and never-ending sense of humor. He had a passion for his family and the people who called him “Pastor”. |
