Johnson, Eddie Carroll
12/24/2007
Aug. 31, 1946 - Nov. 24, 2007
Carroll Johnson was born in Hartsville, South Carolina on August 31, 1946. He left this earth to join his heavenly Father on November 24, 2007 as the result of an automobile accident in St. Francisville, Louisiana.
Carroll entered the ministry late in life after running from God for a number of years. He worked as a Plant Manager for 34 years with Sonoco Products Company before being given an early retirement. His first appointment was at Grand River United Methodist Church in Plaquemine, Louisiana where he served for four years. He then moved to North Louisiana to serve the Mangham/Crew Lake Churches, which is where he was at the time of his death. He had been there for four and one-half years.
Carroll loved getting out and meeting people, visiting members of both congregations and especially loved working with children. He always gave of his time and was willing to help anyone, even after he was diagnosed with Leukemia early in 2007. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, bible studies and sermons. He had a special fondness for LSU and South Carolina Football.
He is survived by his wife Janice, mother Jennie L. Johnson; father and step-mother Eddie H. and Jackie Johnson; sister Ann Johnson; daughter and son-in-law Crystal and Ryan Cox; son Eddie Johnson, Jr.; step-daughters and sons-in-law Nicole & Brandon Smith, Kimberleigh and Jessie Olague and step-son Kevin Miller; seven grandchildren Emily and Andrew Olague; Autumn and Taylor Smith and Austin, Landin and Jacob Miller, and a host of relatives and friends.
