Davis, Betty Lou Perkins (Mrs. M.L.)
6/2/2008
Betty Lou Perkins Davis died June 2, 2008 at the age of 81. She was the wife of the late Rev. M.L. Davis, Sr.; Mother of Betty Lounette Verbois, the late M.L. Davis, Jr., and the late Randall Mark Davis; Grandmother of Mark Verbois, Mandy Verbois Plauche, M.L. Davis III (Trey), Sunny Davis and Laura Davis; and Great Grandmother of Jordan Davis. She was stepmother of Katie Lou Davis Farmer. Bett, as known by all her friends and family, never walked after an automobile accident in 1957. She had 19 surgeries on her knees and legs, but never complained. She would smile and say, "I feel pretty good." She was a faithful church member and loved to open her home to members of the church, day or night. She loved to cook and was a lover of plants, roses, and butterflies. She kept herself busy by sewing, knitting, coin collecting, and making Christmas ornaments. She believed if she was busy then her mind was off her pain. She would never complain. If she heard family in a heated argument, she would always say, "It's nice weather we're having" and that meant to change the subject. Ha! She was my heart and life. We spent every day together. Now she is my heavenly angel. I loved her dearly. Lounette Verbois |
