Gloria Teresa Scholl Seiler, age 85, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 , in Issaquah , Washington . The youngest of six children, Gloria was born September 24, 1924 in New Orleans , Louisiana to Henry Joseph and Marguerite Ulmo Scholl. She attended high school in Baton Rouge then did watch repair in New Orleans . In 1944 Gloria married Joseph Ellery Seiler. They lived in Jefferson , Louisiana until 1957 when they moved to Missouri where Joe attended Eden Theological Seminary. They then lived several places, serving the United Church of Christ and then the United Methodist Church as pastor and very active wife.

Following her husband's death in 1981, Gloria earned her Associate of Arts degree from San Jacinto College , Houston , Texas while living with her son Dale and his family and was a public school classroom aide. She moved to Aurora , Colorado in 1986 to live near her son Keith and his family and to help care for her grandsons Paul and Brian. In 1995 she moved to Issaquah , Washington to live near Keith and family.

She was active at the Julius Boehm Pool and in Our Savior Lutheran Church where she was a member of the choir and active in the seniors' group. She liked gardening, crafts, and reading and traveled often to visit family in Chicago , New Orleans , and Austin . Friends called her “Jet Set Grandma.” She was always close to her New Orleans roots and her room was decorated for Mardi Gras at the time of her death.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband and her siblings. Surviving are her three children: Gloria (Charles) French, Western Springs, Illinois; Keith (Betsy) Seiler, Issaquah, Washington; and Dale (Stephanie) Seiler, Austin, Texas; and six grandchildren: Andrea French (Troy) Andres and Arden French, Paul and Brian Seiler, and David and Joey Seiler.
