JOE WAYNE MCCLAIN

Joe Wayne McClain, a long time United Methodist Minister, went to his immortal home on Sunday, November 20, 2011. Bro. McClain was born March 12, 1934 to Glynn and Salley McClain in Selmer, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann McClain; 4 sons: Jeff (Scottie), William, Ehrett (Shari), and Patrick; one daughter: Beth Hall (James); 5 grandchildren: Stamper Scott (Amber), Justin Scott, Glynn McClain (Sara), Lauren McClain, and Grant McClain; 5 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Taylor, Chandler, Jordan, and Anabeth; 1 brother: Bill (Jean) McClain; and loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one child, Joseph Grant McClain. A memorial service was held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Slidell.
Rev. McClain will be remembered for his basketball playing in the state of Tennessee as well his narrative preaching. He was a fervent student of the Bible. In his later years of retirement, he really loved Bible Study and teaching Sunday School.
