THOMAS A. WILSON
JULY 14, 1925 – OCTOBER 29, 2010
Tom served lovingly as a United Methodist minister for 36 years in the Louisiana Conference. During that time he served all over the state of Louisiana, his first charge was Ellerbe Road United Methodist and his last charge was Shiloh, Longstreet and Keatchi. He loved Jesus as his Lord and Savior and thought it a privilege to serve in the United Methodist Church.
After his retirement from the United Methodist Conference in 2000, he served as Chaplain for Goodwill Industries of Northwest Louisiana. Once again he considered it a privilege to continue to preach and teach about his Savior.
In 1951 he married his sweetheart, Natalie Mitchell. They were married for 49 years before her death in 2000. They had three children, son – Lamar, daughters – DeNell Mitchell and Teri Spinney. They had ten grandchildren, all of them adored by their grandparents.
He loved spending time with his entire family but especially loved fishing with his son and sons-in-law. His other loves were singing, playing the guitar and piano, playing dominos with the boys and taking care of his old boat. He enjoyed Louisiana food and sharing a laugh.
He was loved dearly by his children and grandchildren and is greatly missed.
