DAN WASHINGTON, JR.
AUGUST 12, 1932 – AUGUST 18, 2010
Rev. Dan Washington, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at his home in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Isabella Williams and Dan Washington, Sr.; husband of Dorothy Swanson Washington; father of DeVon Washington, DeWayne Washington and Chanda Smith; step-father of Trevor Wright; brother of Elisha Murphy, the late Fredrick Williams and Louticha Howard. He is survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dan was a native of St. Landry Parish, Louisiana and a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. He served the following churches from 1969 to 2006 when he retired: St. James, Hahnville; St. Landry, Gonzales; St. James, Convent; Morgan City, Walmsley-Berwick, Mason (two different times); and Trinity, New Orleans.
