CHARLSIE MAE BREAUX BARABIN
NOVEMBER 28, 1930 – JULY 23, 2010
Charlsie, a native of Crowley attended public school, and graduated from Crowley Industrial Training School. She received her B.S. from Grambling State University and a Masters Degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge.
She was employed with Acadia Parish School Board and taught for 28 years until she retired. Charlsie moved and taught 2 years with East Baton Rouge Parish and 5 years with the Houston Independent School District until her health began to decline.
Charlsie was a faithful and dedicated member with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority for 25 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Juliet Charlsie Barabin and Judith Brianette Barabin- Keller (Eugene); two sons, Julian Brian Barabin IV and Marcus Byron Barabin of Houston; one brother, Charles Ray Breaux Sr.; one sister-in-law Marie Breaux of Crowley, Louisiana; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and Bishop Melvin Caslin and Pastor Janice Caslin with the New Deliverance Outreach Center. Charlsie was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Julian B. Barabin III and parents, Jessie Breaux and Mattie G. Breaux Scott.
She was an outstanding, demanding, exceptional teacher and will be missed.
