A message from Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey:
As we wake this morning in Louisiana, we continue to assess the damage from the outbreak of yesterday’s tornadoes.
Six parishes have been impacted: Ascension, Livingston, Orleans, St. Tammany, St. James and Tangipahoa.
Our Early Response Teams are on the scene making initial assessments and a request has been made for emergency support from UMCOR.
To our knowledge, United Methodist Churches were not harmed; although many families in the area have been impacted.
Please keep those families, pastors and congregations who are providing support in your prayers.
