Senior High Retreat draws 318 participants

March 08, 2016
The Wesley Center is Woodworth was “hoppin’” this past weekend with 318 youth and adult participants enjoying the 2016 Conference Senior High Retreat. This awesome event, leading others into abundant life in Christ, was the “best ever” according to many of the youth participants.
Alana Rembert, CCYM senior from the Lake Charles District, wrote on Facebook, “My last Sr. High Retreat and the best one ever! I am so blessed to be a part of such an amazing youth group. Thanks everyone for a memorable weekend that I will always cherish.”
David Black from the Shreveport District wrote, “Senior high retreat 2016 has been the best so far! Wish I could relive this weekend over and over again. Our theme for this past year was Rooted in Christ and the verse was Matthew 12:33. Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for a tree is known by its fruit.”

Rev. Juliet Spencer, Monroe District Superintendent, spoke to the youth about being “Rooted in Christ,” the event theme. During the weekend, Spencer wrote on the Monroe District Facebook page, “It's a great weekend at the Wesley Center with Sr. High peeps from throughout the Conference. . .Jesus-loving, crowned in honor and glory, rooted in Christ, Christians here to praise God and grow in faith.”
Hailey Comeaux, from the Acadiana District and who was attending Senior High Retreat for the first time, wrote, “This weekend was absolutely amazing. It opened up my eyes to a lot of stuff. I'm so glad I went. It was a great experience & I wasn't expecting to like it that much because I knew nothing about it. As it turns out, I loved it. This weekend something just clicked. I learned that no matter what happens in life, just keep pushing forward, you'll always have God to help you through everything. Even the times that you feel alone you're really not, you always have God.”
What an AWESOME event, leading others into abundant life in Christ!
