Rayne Memorial UMC celebrates 140 years

On Jan. 10, Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church in New Orleans celebrated its 140^th anniversary with a worship service, followed by brunch held at the local home which was formerly owned by the late Robert Rayne, church benefactor.
 
Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey and her husband Dean Harvey were on hand to help commemorate the event.
 
Rev. Ann Sutton, pastor of Northwood UMC in Lafayette, was commissioned to create paintings used for the day’s bulletin cover and for notecards which were printed and sold to raise funds for mission.
