Praying for Peace

April 13, 2018
From Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey:
It’s never comforting to look on TV and see a headline reading “U.S. Bombs Syria”.
This evening, we have much to pray for and I echo President Trump’s call to prayer.
In the midst of our busy Friday nights, let us pause and pray for peace and safety.
Countless lives are in danger and we pray for the innocent.
We pray for the troops who are in harm's way and their families who will have a sleepless night of anxiety.
We also pray for our leaders, in hopes they make informed and intelligent decisions - now and into the future.
Despite the darkness of ‘missile attacks’, we hang on to the hope that God is working to restore peace to a region of the world that needs it more than ever.
