Rev. Sam Hubbard to Office of Congregational Development and Transformation

April 28, 2020
Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey has appointed Rev. Sam Hubbard to be the next Associate Director of Congregational Development and Transformation for the Louisiana Annual Conference.

Hubbard currently serves as the campus minister of the Wesley Foundation at Southeastern Louisiana University.

He has helped transform the student ministry there and has started numerous innovative ministries to reach and gather new people in his mission field and help them take their next steps in Christ.

“Sam’s creativity and entrepreneurial spirit make him an excellent choice to assist in leading pastors and churches to reach their fullest potential,” said Bishop Harvey. “It will be exciting to watch Sam lead during this time that calls for innovation and courageous leadership.”

As an annual conference, our primary goal is to make disciples of Jesus Christ through our local congregations. The Office of Congregation Development and Transformation resources churches to become healthier congregations and also to build new faith communities that reach new people to become disciples of Jesus Christ.

“Sam’s experience with revitalization and innovation will complement this ministry of the conference,” said Rev. Gloria Fowler, Director of the Office of Congregational Development and Transformation. “He aligns well with this Office’s culture, which always requires new ways of thinking and doing ministry.”

Rev. Sam Hubbard’s appointment will be ¾ time with the Office of Congregational Development and ¼ at Southeastern’s Wesley Foundation.

His arrangement will allow him to remain active in practical ministry and, at the same time, equip and impact the ministry of our other local congregations.
