NOLA Ready Community Emergency Response Training for Houses of Worship

December 05, 2019

Start off 2020 with a special Nola Ready 2 day training in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery for Houses of Worship! NOLA Ready Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) teaches individuals the important skills needed to help their neighbors and communities respond to different types of disasters, as well as support first responders and community disaster partners in response and recovery efforts. If you are passionate about emergency preparedness and disaster response and recovery for your House of Worship and in your community, this free training is for you!

Through a mix of classroom sessions and hands-on activities taught by emergency management professionals and first responders, the comprehensive 2 day NOLA Ready CERT training program educates participants about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their community. It trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, community disaster support, disaster medical operations, active shooter preparedness, city assisted evacuation, sheltering, recovery services, working with residents with special medical needs and functional and access needs, psychological first aid, flood response and clean up, and more.

This CERT training is a special Nola Ready course offering designed for Houses of Worship. The City of New Orleans recognizes the important role Houses of Worship play in the daily care and support of our residents, and the unique contribution our faith partners make to disaster response and recovery efforts. For more information and to register for the course, click here.
