Mission u: Education for the Transformation of the World

“Mission u: Education for the Transformation of the World,” is slated for Wednesday - Saturday, July 19-22, 2017 at The Wesley Center in Woodworth.
This is an opportunity to study current issues impacting society and grow in an understanding of mission in the current world context.
The Louisiana Conference United Methodist Women Mission u event provides educational experiences that lead to a personal change in hopes to transform the world. Christian mission should always be carried out with education, preparation, action, and advocacy, as well as mutual learning and partnerships.
The 2017 Mission Studies include
It will also include worship, song, interest groups around current issues, various mission projects, and great fellowship.
All adult attendees will participate in the Spiritual Growth study and will choose either the Geographic or Issue study and each is scheduled for at least eight hours of class time.
Registration forms are available for adults and youth (ages 12-18) and scholarships are available for “first-time” attendees.

- Spiritual Growth “Living as a Covenant Community,” led by Rev. John Vining
- Geographic “The Missionary Conferences of the United Methodist Church in the United States,” led by Rev. Bernadine Johnson, Rev. Mollie McGee, Dolores Giles and Debbie Hancoc
- Social Issue“ Climate Justice: Call to Hope and Action,” led by Tremaine Riley
- The Children and Youth study “In Mission Together: A Youth Study on Missionary Conferences,” led by Rev. Karli Pidgeon and Sabrina Short.
