An Update from Manos Juntas Mexico

October 15, 2019

A Letter From Willie Berman Manos Juntas Director

Dear friends and supporters,

First of all, I want to thank you for your support in years past to Manos Juntas Mexico and to myself as a missionary from Global Ministries.

Our support base has been the mission teams coming to serve here at Manos Juntas. But life changes and we know that.

Mission teams, after some time of partnering with us, have stopped coming for several reasons: response to natural disasters, other mission sites, a drop in their team members, safety concerns for traveling to México, etc.

We have been growing in a couple of local ministries that today are self-sustained, but there are a couple more that still need some economical push beyond our means.

We continue to struggle, every day, with the reduction of mission teams coming to our area, or the uncertain commitment from mission teams to come back.

Current on-going projects are:
  • Vamos Tamaulipas Community Center. Serving the community with a Pre-school and Elementary School programs. We currently have 54 students and 6 employees.
  • House of Hope Children’s Home. A house for 10 boys and 10 girls in our first phase. Planning to extend it to a second house for teenagers. We have 8 employees now.

So, we are thinking about a strategy that would allow us to become self- sustained in many of our areas. Here are a couple of examples in our planning:

Establish “Pizza HOPE” in Nuevo Progreso; (We already have a location and building for this project that would provide jobs and financial earnings to support House of Hope (HOH) Children’s Home.)

Also, at the same spot, we have an auditorium that will have movie nights, plays, concerts and folklore dancing lessons for the community. This will also be part of funding for HOH operations and at the same time create jobs for the locals.

Our two medical clinics, one in Rio Bravo and the other one in Reynosa, are self-sufficient and are paying for two (free to the community) medical clinics per month with our mobile clinic.

Ideally, we would like to build up a group of supporters that will assist us. The goal is to gain commitments of from 1 to 3 years to support our ministry with an annual amount of at least $300 from individuals, $400 from Sunday School Classes, $2500 from churches (depending on the size of it) and/or $6000 to $9000 from a Conference.

We urge you to prayerfully consider joining us financially to enhance the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We pledge to keep you informed on the use of the funds and the benefits to our community thru our programs.

The Advance program from the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries is a good way for you to partner with us financially for two reasons:
  1. It gives you a tax-exempt receipt for your donation and 100% of that comes to our Bank account.
  2. Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church performs an annual audit of our financial records with external auditors at their expense.
Manos Juntas Mexico: Advance number 3020527

At the very least, we ask for your prayers for our ongoing ministries.

Praise God! And Thank you so much!

Juntas Director
