Important FEMA Information for Churches

From the Office of Missional Engagement and Outreach:

Churches in Jefferson, LaFourche, Orleans, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist and Terrebonne parishes may qualify for repair assistance from FEMA. 

However, the deadline for applying is September 28, 2021.

If your church suffered damage, per the guidance below, and cannot register due to technical issues, such as power outages or internet connectivity, the Office of Missional Engagement and Outreach stands ready to assist. 

Please contact our offices as soon as possible.

  • Public Assistance – Categories C-G for Houses of Worship and Private Non-Profits: the following parishes were approved for Public Assistance Categories C-G (Permanent Work) for the following parishes. GOHSEP is working to collect data for PDAs in the remaining parishes that have not received permanent work designations. If additional parishes are approved for permanent work, designation updates will be made. These categories, depending on which one applies, could potentially help Houses of Worship and Private Non-Profits with repairs to facilities damaged as a result of Hurricane Ida.
