Giving Tuesday

November 08, 2016

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. We've created a directory to help you find organizations, charities, events and more in your own community.

The Louisiana Annual Conference is suggesting three ways you can give and make a difference to the mission of the Conference here in Louisiana.

Support the continuing efforts to respond to the flooding of 2016. The Louisiana Annual Conference continues to respond to the needs of Louisianians. From the spring floods to the August floods, great needs still exist. Your donations will help fund United Methodist teams as they respond and rebuild.

Support David & Elizabeth McCormick, a Louisiana missionary family with the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church serving the Chicuque Rural Hospital in Mozambique.

Support the continuing efforts of UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Supporting UMCOR will help support the sustained efforts of the larger church as they respond to needs all across the world. This financial support will also help UMCOR’s Sager Brown Depot, located in Baldwin, Louisiana.
